Like each patch in a quilt, our lives are made of bits and pieces sewn together to weave a larger story. These stories become part of someone’s history and legacy. Along with these stories are often objects—physical things that the stories live within. But what happens if the history is not recorded and is not remembered beyond the individuals who were there to experience it? Join us as we open our doors the second Saturday of the month for guests to enjoy all the museum has to offer! Our newest exhibit Who is Rosie Lee Wilkins: Piecing Together Her History is on display now. The STEM Center will be open by registration for 30-minute time slots, and our hands-on Science Center will be open throughout the afternoon. Always wanted to try your “hand” at quilting? Join Interim Executive Director and avid quilter, Melissa Horton, for this virtual hand quilting workshop! Participants will receive the supplies and instruction needed to create their own square to use as a quilted potholder or doily. This workshop will go over the process of hand quilting from start to finish.
