Naval Battles of the Great Lakes
On Wednesday, July 13th, at 6pm, visit the White Lake Community Library to learn about victories, defeats, sneak attacks, and even piracy that took place on all five Great Lakes. Presenters Poppins and Chuck, who explore Great Lakes history on their blog and Youtube Channel The Restless Viking, discuss battles during the War of 1812, naval actions on the Lakes during World War II, and even the assassination of a “king” that took place right here in the Great Lakes.
Presenters Poppins and Chuck work with many Michigan organizations to bring Michigan History alive. They travel to the most remote regions of the Great Lakes to study the history of those unique places. Chuck also serves as crew on the “Friends Good Will”, a replica 1812 Great Lakes warship that sails out of South Haven, Michigan.
