The MuskegonCity Pubic Art Initiative, in partnership with the City of Muskegon, Muskegon Heritage Museum, James Jackson African American Museum, and YEP (a program of Community enCompass) present three virtual Community Forums to gather ideas and inspiration for an upcoming mural – planned for the exterior of the Mercy Health Arena.

You are invited to attend a ZOOM Community Forum with award-winning Michigan artist Dr. Hubert Massey. For this project, Massey’s goal is to learn “What defines Muskegon?”

Is it Muskegon’s diverse community? Our natural treasures? Or, is it the industrial heritage that created this town?

How have our natural resources and industries, from early lumber mills to modern manufacturers, attracted and sustained the proud and diverse people who make our community what it is?

Join the conversation to share your history and family experiences that make Muskegon home to you.

Be a part of the story.

To register for one of the three forums, please email with your preferred time.
