Muskegon Muskrat Day & Progressive Block Party
August 27, 2019 @ 5:00 pmFree
Tuesday, August 27 beginning at 5:00pm, you’re invited to join the new Boomtown Market in downtown Muskegon for the inaugural Muskegon Muskrat Day Celebration! If the weirdly named town of Pauxentawney, Pennsylvania can be put on the national map with a groundhog, the weirdly named city of Muskegon can outdo them with a muskrat named Frank.
The honorable mayor of Muskegon, Steve Gawron, will preside at this haphazard and silly event. He will hold up Muskrat Frank and if Frank sees his shadow, then Muskegon gets eight more weeks of summer. The dress code is Victorian Formal (as a nod to our 150 years as a city) or just come as you are.
Immediately after a brief ceremony the Progressive Block Party begins! Party hop and have a blow-out, great time, end of summer celebration with Unruly Brewing Co. (featuring Fierce Frank beer), to 18th Amendment Spirits Co. (featuring The Blue Muskrat gin drink), to Pigeon Hill Brewing (featuring Longer Days beer). Be the first to get your inaugural Muskegon Muskrat Day T-shirts, available at Boom Town Market! Racquets, Mikes, Tipsy Toad, Rad Dads, Dr. Rolfs, Top Shelf and others are joining in with muskrat inspired food and drink. For more information e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
