It’s going to be a “firecracker” of a fun Fourth of July in Muskegon County! Here’s everything you need to know.

Will There Be Fireworks?

Yes! The City of Muskegon will light up the night sky with an incredible fireworks display! Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for this family-friendly event under the stars. The July 4th Independence Day show begins at approximately10:20 pm in Downtown Muskegon, MI. Click HERE to find this on our Calendar of Events

After the White Lake Area 4th of July Parade, stick around town for some outdoor recreation, shopping, and dining. Then pull up a seat (or blanket) to watch fireworks over White Lake. The show begins at dusk. 

Everyone Loves a Parade

Bring the family to the White Lake Area 4th of July Parade. The parade route travels from Whitehall City Hall to Downtown Montague and includes over 75 entries! See it on our Calendar of Events HERE 

Watch the Fireworks from a Ship!

There is nothing better than watching fireworks in July…except maybe watching them while you are on the water! Set sail with the Aquastar for a special July Fireworks cruise on Tuesday July 4th. (Check with Aquastar for availability, this cruise sells out quickly!)

Step aboard the SS Milwaukee Clipper and view the show from the deck of national landmark. The Milwaukee Clipper is hosting a Fourth of July Party and Open House. Find more information HERE

Where else can you watch a firework show from the deck of a WW2 Landing Ship! The USS LST 393 Veterans Museum will be hosting a viewing party, with one of the best seats in town!

What About Parking in Downtown Muskegon?

Arrive early and be prepared to pay to park (a great way to support a local cause!). Be aware of road closures:

  • Terrace Point Dr. will be closed from Shoreline Dr. to the first parking lot beginning Tuesday morning on July 4th.  It will reopen Wednesday morning
  • Shoreline Drive will close July 4th just after 10 pm and will reopen approximately 15 minutes after the fireworks show concludes
