Where will the Muskegon Convention Center be located?
The Muskegon Convention Center will be located on 4th Street between Western Avenue and Shoreline Drive, and the City of Muskegon will vacate 4th Street for the facility. The building will be sited between the LC Walker Arena and the Delta by Marriott (formerly the Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor). The building will be accessible by entrances at Shoreline Drive, Western Avenue and 3rd Street, with additional access through the hotel and arena.
When will the Muskegon Convention Center be built?
Construction is set to begin in 2019, with an approximate opening date in the first quarter of 2021.

The public/private partnership consisting of Muskegon County, the City of Muskegon and Parkland Properties calls for a $17 million convention center. Total investment in the convention/exposition campus will exceed $26 million. The City of Muskegon recently completed a $1.7 million renovation to modernize the 1960’s era LC Walker Arena, with an additional $1.5 million investment in roofing and HVAC improvements planned. Parkland Properties is converting the Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor into a Delta by Marriott, which includes a completely renovated property and rebranded hotel at a cost of $6 million.
How is the Muskegon Convention Center funded?
The Muskegon Convention Center will be funded through the County of Muskegon’s accommodation taxes and a state-approved 4% hotel assessment.
How large is the Muskegon Convention Center?
The Muskegon Convention Center will have 20,000 sq. ft. of multi-functional, divisible clear-span space with an expansive pre-function area overlooking Muskegon Lake. Additionally, the convention center will have 10,000 sq. ft. of breakout space and newly renovated banquet facilities at the hotel and in the lower level of the convention center building.
