New this year! The Lakeshore Museum Center offers a 7-Day History Pass. The pass is good for one admission to each of the museum sites and is valid for 7days after the date of purchase.
The Historic Sites division of the Lakeshore Museum Center are made up of five historic structures. Ticket prices include a one-hour tour of the Hackley and Hume Houses, as well as the Fire Barn Museum and the Scolnik House of the Depression Era. They are open for the season from May to October, with special programs and tours available November-April.

Muskegon Museum of History and Science
The Muskegon Museum of History and Science is the main museum of the Lakeshore Museum Center. There’s always something new to learn and do! From hands-on interactive exhibits, regular themed open-house style activities, and special events for families and adults, this is the place to be in Muskegon for continuous fun. The STEM Center is now open with limited capacity. Admission to the main Lakeshore Museum Center location is FREE for Muskegon County residents.
Hackley and Hume Homes
The Hackley and Hume Homes are lovingly restored, gorgeous Queen Ann style Lumber Baron mansions, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Fire Barn Museum and Scolnik House of the Depression Era
Tour a fully furnished 1930’s House of the Depression Era. See firefighting equipment from the 1880s through the present day. Visit the sleeping quarters of the original fire fighters of Hackley Hose Company.
Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry
The Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry of the Lakeshore Museum Center is dedicated to preserving the economic, industrial & social history of the greater Muskegon area. The collection includes informational exhibits, and artifacts and photos pertaining to Muskegon’s industries, products, and businesses. There is a working Corliss steam engine with a line shaft that runs 11 machine tools. You can also see a working Brunswick pinsetter, spring winding machine, and over 80 other companies represented in exhibits.
