With a nice Autumn crisp in the air, it’s time to start celebrating Muskegon County’s Depot to Depot Fall Color Tour! Check out our self- guided tour, visiting historic sites, enjoying nature and decorate pumpkins!

Pick up your pumpkin and map at either the Muskegon Union Depot, home of Visit Muskegon or the Train Depot, home of the White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. From there stop at 9 of our designated locations, get a stamp and continue on your way!

Along with Depot to Depot happening this Saturday, check out the following events as well!

Pumpkin Fest:

Pumpkin Fest features pumpkin pie baking contests, seed spitting contests, pumpkin painting and carving contests, and the festival favorite, the Pumpkin Roll down Dowling Hill with over 700 contestants of all ages. Registration for the roll begins at 9:30am. The White Lake Senior Center will have food specials to go along with vendors selling elephant ears, hot dogs, pizzas, candied apples and more! Buster Keaton Society Convention & Film Festival:

Saturday evening, October 8th the public is invited to the beautiful Frauenthal Center to see Buster on the big screen with accompaniment on the Barton Organ. The doors open at 7:00pm. General admission is $8.00 per person. The film festival includes “The Detective Story” at 8:00m and at 10:30pm”The Speakeasy” will bring the conclusion to the film festival.

City of the Dead Muskegon:

This is Muskegon’s 7th annual “Us & Them” Cemetery tours and historical re-enactment of our local founders & fellows! There has been such a huge interest in this that a matinee has been added to the schedule this year. The dates are Saturday, October 8 from 6:00-8:00pm and Sunday, October 9 from 2:00-4:00pm. Tickets are just $5 each and kids under 6 are FREE! Evergreen Cemetery is located at 400 Irwin St.

Muskegon South Pierhead Light Tours:

The Muskegon South Pierhead Light will be open for tours on Saturday night from 3:30pm-6:30pm. The light is located at Pere Marquette channel by the USS Silversides Submarine.

Montague Farmers’ Market:

Visit the market from 9:00am till 1:00pm. Located on the corner of Church St. and Water st., one block south of the stoplight.

Muskegon Farmers’ Market:

Visit the Muskegon Market from 6am till 3pm.
