Muskegon County is home to expansive sports and entertainment venues and sports events year round. Whether interested in checking out one of our many local sports teams, or host your own event, Muskegon County is the place to be!

Muskegon Highway MapOur slice of Lake Michigan shoreline offers visitors the chance to experience year-round recreation and entertainment options. Enjoy over 26 miles of sugar sand beaches along Lake Michigan during the spring and summer months, or take advantage of miles and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. Cheer on our beach soccer and volleyball teams on our nationally-certified clean beach, Pere Marquette Beach. Try out paddleboarding or sailing on Muskegon Lake, or relax and float down Muskegon River by kayak or canoe. During the fall and winter months try the thrill of the luge at Muskegon’s Winter Sports Complex, one of only four luges in the United States. Muskegon County also offers cross country skiing and snow shoeing trails, as well as plenty of ice fishing and even ice boating during the winter.

The L.C Walker Arena, located in downtown Muskegon, is within walking distance of two full-service hotels, The Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts, and multiple restaurants and breweries. Muskegon Lake is a 4,150-acre inland lake and quite calm during the summer months, making it ideal for water sport competitions. Don’t miss your chance to host your event and experience the lakeshore in Muskegon County!
